Golden Leaves ~ Chianti, Italy

In 2016 while traveling through Chianti, Italy, on a photographic tour with my driver, Patrizio Travaglii, we came across a former beautiful palace that had an incredible view of rows of vineyards. On closer inspection we discovered that the palace had transformed into a hotel, The Osteria di col di Bouno (The Good Tavern). Years and a pandemic later, I decided to use my photographs for several paintings. This painting was completed in the fall of 2023. In the courtyard of the “tavern” the gentleman in the upper left was my driver. What attracted me the most was the abundance of yellow leaves that seemed to all be the same color yellow, especially the ones on the table tops. Oil on canvas 39”x29" 2023 $4450.00
